Our projects

Butta Cooperation

The Butta Farmers' Cooperative Society aims to increase the participation of smallholder farmers in a sustainable and profitable value chain.

The coffee farmers registered with the Butta Cooperative (approx. 500) are officially certified by Ecocert as organic specialty farmers and receive regular training, instructions and provision of appropriate tools and equipment so that they can increase productivity on their coffee plantations, post-harvest management and the production of high-quality washed Arabica coffee.

GoSmile Bushenyi

In cooperation with the association GoSmile Uganda Deutschland eV, we source Robusta beans from the Bushenyi region in western Uganda, which grow at altitudes of 1,300-1,600m. GoSmile's vision is to support small farmers in Uganda through digital farming in order to create new marketing opportunities for their coffee beans. Due to the high altitude, lower temperature fluctuations compared to central Uganda and mineral-rich soils, the Bushenyi region offers ideal conditions for first-class Robusta coffee.

Nnengera Kibanga

Since 2020, we have been cooperating with Nnengera Kibanga, an organization that produces high-quality Robusta for the specialty market and supports marginalized people in the coffee-growing region.

In order to support local coffee farmers and promote coffee cultivation, we purchased 2,000 coffee seedlings from Nnengera Kibanga and donated them.

Chebonet Women Coffee Development Association

The CWCDA is an association of women coffee farmers from Kapchorwa on Mount Elgon in eastern Uganda.

Janet Chemonges, the chair, emphasizes the purpose of the association: mutual support and learning.

We pay these women a higher price for specialty coffee to improve their living conditions and fairly recognize their work.
