UNSERE STORY

WIE ALLES INS ROLLEN KAM...

...during our 4-week family holiday in Uganda, we get to know the women's cooperative Chebonet Women Coffee Development Association. Excited by the new impressions and the quality of the beans, the idea of making coffee ourselves is born.
export and support projects and coffee farmers in the country.

WARUM MACHEN WIR DAS?

...things are getting serious. We are founding GERUGA Coffee in Germany and our export company of the same name in Uganda. This enables us to implement our philosophy of direct coffee trading without any middlemen. In May 2018, the first ton of green coffee arrives at our home. Our basement becomes a coffee warehouse and we can finally go on a tour of Germany with our beans and visit various coffee roasters.

FAIR, DIREKT, EHRLICH

...GERUGA's first year of business is over and to our great delight, our green coffee has convinced numerous roasters, so that we can already export the first half container in 2019.

Our cellar
is slowly but surely becoming too small - we have to move. Fortunately, we quickly find a suitable location to store our green coffee in Kassel.

WAS SPRINGT FÜR DICH DABEI RAUS?

... a new era begins. Up to this point, our core business has been purely trading in green coffee. Closing the value chain and eventually roasting and marketing our own imported coffee ourselves has always been a dream of ours. This became a reality quicker than we thought. The opportunity arose to roast the green coffee in our hall where we store it, so we invested in a 15kg coffee roaster.

Since November 2021, we have been roasting our own coffee and are now officially available on the market as GERUGA Coffee.
