Frequently Asked Questions
What does "washed" mean?
During wet processing, the pulp is first removed from the coffee bean using water and so-called wet mills.
The last remaining pulp is then removed in the fermentation tank. The high-quality beans sink to the bottom, while inferior beans rise to the surface as "floaters" and are sorted out.
Is it organic certified coffee?
Our Arabica AA SL 14 is not organic certified. However, our farmers work without chemical fertilizers or pesticides.
Where is the coffee grown?
Our Arabica comes from Uganda. There it is grown on Mount Elgon, an extinct volcano at an altitude of 1800 - 2000m.
